Privacy Policy
Effective 25 August 2026 · Last updated 25 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Handydove (“we”, “us”) collects, uses,
shares, and protects information when you use our mobile application and
related services (the “Platform”). By using Handydove, you agree to this
policy.
1. Who we are
Handydove is a marketplace that helps clients find and contact
independent local professionals for home and technical services. We are
not the employer of professionals and do not perform the jobs
ourselves. Contact:
support@handydove.com.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the app, we may collect:
-
Account & identity: phone number (for OTP sign-in
via Firebase Authentication), display name, role (client and/or
professional), and profile details you provide (for example bio or
skills).
-
Location: approximate or precise location when you
open the app or choose to pin a work location. We use this for
nearby matching and directions on jobs. We do not track your location
continuously in the background.
-
Job & session data: requests you send, job
notes, session status, and related timestamps.
-
Communications: in-app chat messages and media
(photos, files, video) you send within a job session, plus call
contact details shared only after a job is accepted, when applicable.
-
Device & notifications: device identifiers used
for security and push notification tokens (for example via Expo /
FCM) if you allow notifications.
-
Trust & safety: reviews, reports, blocks, and
similar signals needed to keep the marketplace fair and safe.
-
Usage & diagnostics: limited technical logs and
analytics needed to operate, secure, and improve the Platform.
3. How we use information
- Create and secure your account (including OTP verification).
- Match clients with nearby professionals and show job context.
- Enable messaging, calling options, and map directions for jobs.
- Send service notifications you opt into (for example new requests).
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations.
- Provide support and comply with legal obligations.
- Improve reliability, performance, and product quality.
4. How we share information
We share information only as needed to run the Platform:
-
Other users: limited profile and job details are
shown to the other party in a request or active job (for example
name, category, and, after accept, contact options when permitted).
-
Service providers: processors such as hosting
(including our API host), Firebase (authentication / related
services), and push notification providers, under appropriate
agreements.
-
Legal / safety: when required by law or to protect
users, the Platform, or others from harm or fraud.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with
third parties for their own advertising.
5. Permissions on your device
The Android app may request permissions such as location, camera,
photos/media, and notifications. You can deny or revoke these in system
settings; some features will not work without them.
6. Data retention
We keep account and job-related data while your account is active and
as needed for operations, disputes, safety, and legal retention. Chat
media may expire or be cleaned according to product rules. When you
delete your account in the app, we schedule permanent deletion after a
short cooling-off period, then remove or anonymize personal data except
where we must retain limited records (for example fraud prevention or
legal compliance).
7. Your choices & rights
- Update profile and location preferences in the app.
- Control notification and OS permission settings on your device.
- Request account deletion from in-app settings (where available).
-
Contact
support@handydove.com
for access, correction, or deletion requests we can reasonably
fulfill under applicable law.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted transport (HTTPS),
access controls, and authenticated APIs. No method of transmission or
storage is 100% secure; please protect your device and do not share OTP
codes.
9. Children
Handydove is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age
required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal
information from children.
10. International processing
Your information may be processed in countries where we or our
providers operate. We take steps designed to protect data in line with
this policy.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the
updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. Continued
use of the Platform after changes means you accept the revised policy.
